Bart Flannery Palmer February 10, 1976 ~ February 3, 2023

Bart Flannery Palmer passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2023. He was born in Monticello UT on February 10, 1976.
He is the second child of Don and Patti Palmer. As a child, Bart grew up bubbly and with a permanent smile on his face. Barty Boy, a nickname that his father gave him, as he did to each of his children; in which he referred to him most of the time.
He loved his family, his brothers, sisters and the friends that he made. In elementary school, he enjoyed his classes and loved his teachers. In middle school, he found sports and his love for the saxophone, in which he spent years of practice developing skills in both.
In high school, he made deep friendships that became more important than most things. One thing Bart and his family were always so proud of is when he was able to use the skills he learned as a scout to save the life of a friend who had a hunting accident with a rifle.
We remember the pride he and his family felt when this amazing story was printed in the local newspaper with a picture of the boys involved.
He graduated from San Juan High School in 1994. His daughter Tavi Jo was born in 1995 and he met his soul mate Sherilyne in 2000. They had three children, and 22 wonderful years together in St. George, UT.
There Bart worked in cabinetry and took great pride in his work. Most recently Bart worked at the Canyonlands Youth Center in Blanding where he loved his co-workers and the youth that he worked with.
Throughout his life Bart enjoyed sports, camping, hunting, music, and family. His family will forever be thankful for this past year they have been able to spend with Bart in Blanding as he has spent the last 22 years in St. George providing for his family.
In the beginning of 2022, things lined up in Bart’s life that allowed him the opportunity to move home where we have had the opportunity to rekindle all of his passions and make memories that we have missed out on for the last 22 years.
We will never forget the time we spent camping, fishing and simply just porch sitting throughout the warm months of summer and fall, an activity the entire family enjoys at the family home on Main Street, where we have all spent many evenings visiting, laughing and creating a lasting bond as we watch the traffic go by.
Bart had an amazing capacity for love and an ability to make friends everywhere he went. His heart had room for all and judgment for no one. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews with his entire soul.
Bart’s heart broke in a way that could not be fully healed when his father passed away. His family takes great comfort in knowing that they are together again.
A piece of our hearts will forever be broken, but we are so thankful for the knowledge that we have in the atonement of Jesus Christ, that his gift will ensure our family will be forever and that we will see Bart’s smile and feel his love again for eternity.
Many goals and dreams were cut short in this life for us all, but how lucky are we to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Don Washburn Palmer.
Bart is survived by his wife Sheri, children Shaylei (Trent) Barney, Tavi Harrison, Dylan Palmer, and Owen Palmer, grandchildren Khloe Marie, Roe Bart, Ivy Rose, mother Patti Porter, siblings Todd, Dawnan, Danny, Cole, Kate and their families.
The family would like to thank all of those who have stopped their world to bring love into ours. So many have brought food, stopped by to visit and sent many words of love and encouragement to each and every one of us in Bart’s family.
To say thank you and that we love you will never be enough. We will never forget your generosity and love for us. We hope to take from this and love as Bart did.
