Audrey Helquist Nelson

January 9, 1934 ~ February 19, 2017
Audrey Helquist Nelson, age 83, of Bountiful, UT passed away on February 19, 2017, surrounded by family.
She was born on January 9, 1934 in Blanding, UT to Charles Kenneth Helquist and Kora Johnson.
She married Melvin Grant Nelson on May 18, 1952 in Blanding, UT.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Grant preceded her in death on April 20, 1997. 
Audrey was an active member of the LDS Church and held numerous ward callings, as well as working in the Bountiful LDS Temple. She served as a missionary in the Iowa Des Moines Mission.
She loved quilting, crocheting, knitting, cooking, gardening, and sharing her talents with others.
She will be greatly missed by her children:  Steven (Lissette) Nelson, of Fairfield, CT; Eric Nelson, of Bountiful, UT; Annette (Dale) Hamblin, of Biggs, CA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters:  Erma (Jack, deceased) Redd,  of Bountiful, UT; Corine (Howard) Hurst, of Paradise, CA; LaMar (Colleen) Helquist, of Orem, UT; Boyd (Betty) Helquist, of Provo, UT; Kenalee (Steven) Winn, of Nephi, UT; LaRue (Hugh) Kirkham, of Bluff, UT; Lyle (Deanne) Helquist, of Lindon, UT.
Funeral services for Audrey were held Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Bountiful, UT.
Graveside services were held Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Blanding City Cemetery.
