Alvie Lee Huff November 15, 1943 ~ June 6, 2022

Alvie Lee Huff, age 78, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at his home in Monticello, UT.
He was born on November 15, 1943. Ironically, Connie, his wife of 60 years, share the same birthday. While he was born in Portland OR, he did not live there long, but grew up in New Mexico.
He was living in Belen, NM at the age of eight with his Mother when she passed away.  He and his two siblings then went to live with their Aunt and Uncle in Cuba, NM. They were raised by them.
He went to all of his school years in Cuba. He was in the high school band and 4-H. They lived on a ranch and while life was hard, full of many responsibilities, he often talked about stories full of adventure and great young life experiences and many lessons learned.
He was raised to be a hard worker and that trait carried through the rest of his life.  After graduating, he met Connie and they moved to Farmington, NM.
They were married shortly after and had their first two children there. In 1967, they moved to Moab, UT.  They were in Moab for 21 years and raised all four of their children there.
While in Moab, Alvie worked in the oil field company, drilling on oil rigs for four years.  He also worked for five years for Charlie McCormick Auto parts store.
Then, he went on to Texas Gulf Potash Plant, working in the maintenance and welding department for 12 years. In 1988, he and Connie moved to Rock Springs WY, where he owned a Big A Auto parts store for eight years.
They sold that and moved back to Moab and opened a Big O Tire Store, which they had for eight years before retiring and moving to Monticello in 2006.
Through the many years of his life, Alvie loved to travel. His fondest memory is a trip him and his wife took to Alaska. He also was always up for just jumping in the car unplanned and going on a road trip.
His favorite place to be was the mountains. He loved camping, 4-wheeling and boating. His favorite past time hobby was fishing.
Alvie loved God, family and the church with his callings, and the people.  He was truly loved by so many.  You would always hear people say, “What a nice guy that Alvie is”.
Alvie is preceded in death by his father, Alvie Leon Huff, mother Nell Monroe Huff, Uncle and Aunt Dave and Velma Alexander, granddaughter Mikelle Biggs, and great grandson Ryan Boulis.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Huff of Monticello, children Jeff (Chris) Huff of Wasilla AK, Tracy Biggs of SLC UT,  Kelly (Bob) Ward of Monticello, and Cory (Heather) Huff of Fresno, CA, grandchildren Kami (Carlyle) Boulis of Anchorage AK, Mike Huff of Killeen TX, Kimber (Zak) Biggs of Mesa AZ, Nathan (Jennifer) Biggs of St. Louis MO, Lynelle (Mason) Wagner of SLC UT, Mikayla (Brian) Pumphrey of Lehi UT, and Brennen, Reilly and Caiden Huff of Fresno CA, and great grandchildren Alex Kiemic Boulis, Tayvn Biggs,  Lily Huff, Valerie and Michelle Biggs.
