Aaron Clifford Brewer September 2, 1973 ~ December 6, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude for his life, we share that Aaron Clifford Brewer, age 52, peacefully passed on December 6, 2025. After courageously facing cancer, he returned home and passed holding his beloved wife’s hand.
Aaron was born on September 2, 1973, in Monticello, UT, to Jack and Carol Brewer. He spent his early years on the family farm in Cahone, CO, where he developed a lifelong love for the land his family homesteaded.
His family later moved to Monticello, UT, where he met his soulmate, Lynnett Ewart. They were married on June 15, 1991. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed four sons into the world.
As a young husband and father, Aaron moved with his family to Provo, UT, where he attended the firefighter’s academy. This calling eventually led him back to San Juan County, where he served as the county’s wildfire warden.
His passion for learning inspired him to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Utah State University, beginning a career dedicated to teaching, mentoring, and supporting the youth of San Juan County.
Aaron later earned a master’s degree in education administration, which opened the door for him to serve as a principal and eventually as the school district’s information technology director.
In this final role, he worked tirelessly to bring wireless internet to students on the Navajo Reservation during the COVID-19 pandemic—an achievement that will continue to benefit families for years to come.
Aaron was a proud and active Freemason in the Cortez #133 and Rico #79 lodges and served as Rico’s Worshipful Master. He was also an active Scottish Rite member and founder of the Four Corners Scottish Rite Club.
His dedication was recognized when he was knighted as a Commander of the Court of Honor in the Orient of Colorado. Through the Scottish Rite, he deepened his love of philosophy, learning, and the esoteric.
Aaron is survived by his beloved wife Lynnett, sons Samuel, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Shane, and seven treasured grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Aaron made an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed, yet the hope and light he shared will continue to shine in the lives he touched.
A viewing will be held at Ertel’s funeral home in Cortez, CO on Friday, December 12 from 5 to 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the Cortez Masonic Lodge at Cortez, 304 East 1st Street on Saturday, December 13 at 10 am with burial to follow at Peel Cemetery.
