Three Blanding men killed in car accident on road to Lake Powell

Three men from Blanding were killed in a vehicle rollover accident on July 1 at approximately 11 p.m.
Driver Wayne Cameron Palmer, age 32, and passengers Kyle R Bailey, age 30, and Parker W Palmer, age 30, were pronounced dead on the scene.
The men were traveling towards Halls Crossing on Highway 276 in a Toyota Tacoma. A few miles south of the intersection with Highway 95, the driver swerved to the right, causing the vehicle to drive off the shoulder of the road.
The driver over-corrected to the left, causing the vehicle to reenter the highway and roll multiple times off the northbound side of the road.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, speed is believed to be a contributing factor for this crash. Another contributing factor may have been the driver swerving to avoid a collision with a cow. This area is open range, and cattle were standing near the roadway upon arrival of emergency response vehicles.
Funeral arrangements are pending as the community family deals with a tragic loss leading up to the Fourth of July weekend.
