Peter’s Hill accident claims life of one, injures three

One woman was killed and three others were injured in a two-car crash on March 14 on Highway 191 at the top of Peter’s Hill, north of Monticello.
After all four occupants were transported to San Juan Hospital in Monticello, Christine A Sours, age 69 of Grand Junction, CO, was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. Sours did not survive her injuries.
The vehicles were traveling in opposite directions at 7:17 a.m. on Thursday when a black four-door sedan with Colorado plates lost control and slid sideways into a northbound silver four-door sedan.
The front of the silver sedan hit the driver’s side of the black sedan. The cars each carried two occupants.
Sours was a front passenger in the black sedan. The other three occupants suffered injuries but are expected to fully recover.
