New studentbody president at USU/CEU

Bettina Benally has been named as the first studentbody president for Utah State University-College of Eastern Utah in Blanding.
Bettina is a sophomore from Monticello. Her parents are Henry and Betty Benally.  Bettina plans to receive her Associates Degree then go into the Nursing field.  Her goals are help students make a smooth transition with USU, continue student committee participation in campus and community events, and further the improvement of the student center.  
The CEU-SJC Student Association recently took part in a day long “Leadership Unity Camp” rappelling and canyoneering through Fry Canyon with North Wash Outfitters. 
Students were challenged by the hike and their first time “over the edge” experience with the skilled help of Jared Hillhouse, owner of NWO.
Nathan Begaye, from Blanding, Utah commented, “I thought this would be fun but I didn’t know it would be this fun! It was awesome!” 
LUC is part of the leadership program on campus to unify and train new student council members, and celebrate the student body service performed by out-going council.  This activity enhances leadership, build bonds and memories that will last a lifetime.  New council members for 2010-2011 include Bettina Benally, Joey Pena, Resheena Chee, Felicia Flavel, Robin Jones, and Jesse Grover.  Any interest or questions about the leadership program; please contact Teresa Frazier, 678-8175 or Shilo Martinez, 678-8160.
