New presidency named for LDS Temple

Vaughan A Johnson, a retired physician from Durango, CO, is the new president of the Monticello Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Johnson and his presidency will serve for three years.  Karen Johnson, the wife of President Johnson, will serve as the Temple Matron.

The Johnsons are joined by counselors Richard D. and Renee Pincock, of Blanding, UT, and Tom and Layne Livingston, of Monticello.  They began their service on November 1, 2009.

The Monticello Utah Temple serves approximately 30,000 members of the LDS Church in southeastern Utah and southwestern Colorado.  It is one of 130 LDS Temples throughout the world.

To members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the temple is the “House of the Lord” where members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to serve Jesus Christ and their fellow man.
