New pool to open soon

Work crews are busy making the finishing touches to the new seaonal swimming pool in Monticello. The new facility will open in early July, according to Ruth Skouson, interim city manager. However, she adds that a specific opening date has not yet been determined.
A meeting between city officials and the construction crews is scheduled to take place on June 25. The opening date of the new pool may be determined after the meeting.
The new facility will featured a “zero-entry” kids pool, a deep area with diving board, several lanes for distance swiming and an area for volleyball and basketball.
