Motorcycle claims life of Monticello man

A Monticello man was killed on October 10 when he hit a deer while riding on his motorcycle. Pieter Haller, age 48, was traveling east on Clay Hill Drive when he hit the deer.

The Utah Highway Patrol said Haller suffered severe head trauma as he was thrown from the motorcycle along the graveled road. He was not wearing a helmet.

Haller was discovered an estimated ten minutes after the accident. He died at the scene.

Haller is survived by his wife Terry, three daughters and two granddaughters. Funeral service were Tuesday, October 16.
