A new facility for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and travelers is opening in Monticello this week.
The new Monticello CoWorking Hub is located on the lower level of the County Library set to open on Friday, March 25th, with an open house the evening before.
The center will include furnished offices, a lounge, and open work areas, a kitchen, a conference room, lockers, print/scan/copy machine, WiFi, and security cameras.
The conference room, which can seat 12-25 people, includes a projector and screen, a whiteboard, HD Flat Screen TV with a soundbar, and subwoofer for presentations.
An open house will take place the evening before from 4:30-6:00 pm with guided tours, question and answer sessions, and two winners to be selected to receive a free one-month pass.
The center is a project of the San Juan County Economic Development Office.
The remodel of the former Senior Center space was created with $120,000 from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development Rural Co-working and Innovation Center Grant Program. $20,000 came from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation, $10,000 from the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments with funds provided by American Express, and $8,500 from Monticello City.
Users will have multiple use options including purchasing single-day passes, punch passes, and monthly subscriptions.
