Winners announced for Inaugural Red Rock Rural Arts show

More than 120 entries were received from schools in Grand and San Juan counties for the Inaugural Red Rock Rural Arts show.
The event was organized by Georgiana Simpson, a visual arts teacher at Whitehorse High School and the rural advocacy chair with the Utah Art Education Association.
Simpson explains that members of the art association wanted to create an event for rural art students in the state and showcase local talent.
“People don’t necessarily (always) get to see the creative expression that comes from this exposure to such a beautiful place,” said Simpson. “As well as the richness and the diversity of the people that are here.”
Winners were announced on the March 23 edition of the Red Rock morning show. An interview with Simpson can be found at RedRock92.com
Special thanks to judges Jason Quinn from Monument Valley and Miranda Black of Moab.
