Loyds Lake up more than one and a half feet in recent weeks

Loyds Lake has risen by more than one and a half feet in recent weeks as rains continue to hit the area. More rain is expected this week. The rains have turned the tide on drought conditions and resulted in an unusual situation: rising reservoir levels in the late summer and early fall. Since crews were able to contain the Babylon Fire in July, more than 11 inches of rain has fallen on Monticello. This represents 75 percent of precipitation for a normal year... falling in just three months.
