The old Trailside / Roam building on 265 North Main in Monticello has taken on a new life as the location for Elk Ridge Wellness.
Monticello native Tara Frost Knight and her husband Dylan Knight will open the doors for their chiropractic and wellness clinic on Monday May 13, 2024.
“We’re excited to be home and to be here in this community. We want to raise our kids in San Juan County where we can enjoy the outdoors and the friendly people here,” the Knights said.
With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Dylan Knight has served as a rehab therapy manager and leading provider in multiple large integrated practices in Salt Lake City, South Jordan, and Alpine, Utah, as well as Temple, Texas before moving to Monticello.
Dylan received a Bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University, after which he attended Iowa Palmer College of Chiropractic where he studied with an emphasis on sports medicine and related injuries.
He is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) and he is also Webster certified to provide therapy on pre and post-natal mothers as well as children and infants.
Knight relates, “The youngest person I have ever worked with was five minutes old, and the oldest person I have worked with was 102.”
In addition to traditional chiropractic services, Elk Ridge Wellness will provide therapy options and treatments tailored to provide wellness to individuals as a whole.
“We can provide in-body scans and a comprehensive look at what therapies and/or dietary supplements each individual needs. Basically, we do what we can to help you feel your best,” said Knight.
“Preventative medicine is what we focus on.”
Active and Passive Therapy services include electrical stimulation, pneumatic compression, rehabilitation with weights and bands, inflammation control, increased range of motion, and muscle strengthening.
Nutritional based therapies include IV therapy, peptide therapy, and diet and supplementation consultation.
“Each body is individual and unique. When it comes to nutritional needs, one dietary plan or supplement does not fit all. We believe that the most expensive supplement in the world is the one you don’t need,” says Dylan.
Elk Ridge Wellness also provides Red Light Therapy, which improves health in a wide range of ways: athletic recovery and performance, reduced inflammation, weight loss, skin anti-aging, pain management, and mood and cognitive function.
Tara assists with Red Light Therapy, which is created through special panels that are wrapped around the body.
A Grand Opening for the new clinic will be Friday May 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. Mayor Bayley Hedglin will do the honors at the ribbon-cutting.
A variety of local vendors will be on hand selling Navajo tacos, desserts, turquoise jewelry, balloon animals, body butter, gym sessions, painting lessons, sourdough bread, and resin art. There will also be raffles for free Elk Ridge Wellness services.
“Come and see our newly remodeled building, learn about the services we offer at our clinic, and enjoy a night out. We will have two free bounce houses for the kids to enjoy, and we look forward to meeting you!” say Dylan and Tara Knight.
