Changes to local television
Abajo Peak television signals will change frequencies on Monday, September 24.
Following the change, viewers who receive a television signal from Abajo Peak will need to rescan, and in some instances, modify or change their antennas.
A 2012 move by the U.S. Congress resulted in an 84mhz television spectrum reduction that requires broadcasters and translators across the country to change frequencies.
On September 24 six San Juan County TV (the Abajo Peak translator site) channels will be moved to high band VHF, and although some antennas will continue to receive those signals, other viewers may need to switch to a combination VHF/UHF antenna.
Television channel numbers will not change.
None of the changes will affect the communities of Mexican Hat, Bluff, Montezuma Creek, or Aneth.
Viewers in Colorado may need to consult an antenna professional for assistance.
