Lawrence Williams, 59, passed away on Dec. 3, 2018, in Cameron, AZ at his home.
Lawrence was born in Monument Valley, UT Oct. 17, 1959 to Jerry Williams and Evelyn Crank. He was of the Yé’ii Táchnii’nii Dine’é (Giant People Clan) and born for the Biih Bítoo’nii (Deer Spring Clan).
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 in Tuba City, AZ. A viewing was held prior to the funeral services with interment at the Tuba City Cemetery.
Lawrence attended school at Tuba City High School and Window Rock High School. He attended Utah Technical College studying to become an electrician.
He is known for his work as a “Rancher” in the southern Utah area, spending a majority of his life working with livestock and being out in nature. He also worked in the Uranium mines and enjoyed meeting new people.
He loved drawing and doing artwork, becoming especially known for making bows and arrows.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and was well known for his sense of humor and love of country music.
He is survived by his children: Kimberly Upshaw (daughter) from Fort Defiance, AZ; Lance Williams (son) and Lisa Marie Williams (daughter) of Thoreau, NM; Lariat Williams (son) and Robertson Williams (son) of Monument Valley, UT; and his nine sisters: Linda Williams of Grand Canyon, AZ; Verlene Henry of Smith Lake, NM; Maeta Beck of American Fork UT, Tinna H. Willie of Fort Defiance, AZ; Caroline Simpson of Cortez, CO; Alma J. Sutherland of Monument Valley, UT; June M. Wauneka of Albuquerque, NM; Velma Perez of Mesa, AZ; and Audrey Payton of Cameron, AZ.
He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Williams of Tuba City, AZ; his mother Evelyn Crank Huskon of Monument Valley, UT; and his brother Alex Williams of Cameron, AZ.
