Homecoming at Monticello

“There’s No Place Like Home” for Monticello High School in 2018.  The homecoming celebration is underway and runs through Saturday. The 2018 homecoming queen is Ellie Thayn, with first attendant Kiley Tracy, second attendant Aspen English, and Miss Congeniality Adri Black.
The week is jam-packed with fun. Wednesday, September 26 is Fake an Injury Day. There’s a good chance some Monticello-area employees will attempt to participate in this event, so employers beware!  The second annual Buckaroo Games are Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the football field, and everyone is invited to come enjoy the show.
Thursday is Celebrity Day and students will attend classes dressed as their favorite stars. It will be a “whiteout” when the volleyball team hosts Grand.  Matches begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday.  After volleyball, everyone will gather in the football field parking lot for a movie night featuring “Oz the Great and Powerful.”
Friday, September 28 is Blackout Day with the annual homecoming parade beginning at noon. The parade route begins at the high school, travels to the elementary school and returns along 100 West.
A 6 p.m. tailgating party at the football field will prepare fans for the 2018 homecoming football game.  It features the Buckaroos hosting the Layton Christian Eagles at 7 p.m.
The week culminates with the annual homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. at the high school.
