Four Corners School to host an open house

Four Corners School of Outdoor Education, a proud member of the Monticello community for more than 26 years, is pleased to announce an Open House on May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Board of Directors and staff of the non-profit Four Corners School invite the entire San Juan County community to attend this open house at their office on the Monticello Golf Course.
Come share food and learn about their programs that support local and regional youth, families, jobs, education, and communities.
They hope you will join them to celebrate the beginning of spring and our shared values: stronger youth and families, more jobs in our community, and engaging educational experiences.
During the two hours they will have presentations by Kira Simpson (5:30), a past participant in the Discovery Institute for Conservation Education Summer Science Camp, Linzi Freestone, a teacher at Monticello Elementary School who currently participates in the Bioregional Outdoor Education Project. She will also share a place-based activity called Animals on the Colorado Plateau; and Josh Sherrock, a current leader with the Canyon County Youth Corps (6:30).
Four Corners School is guided by their mission to create lifelong learning experiences about the Colorado Plateau bioregion for people of all ages and backgrounds through education, service, adventure, and conservation programs.
Four Corners achieves our mission through four programs: The Canyon Country Youth Corps, Bioregional Outdoor Education Project, Southwest Ed-Ventures, and the Discovery Institute for Conservation Education, facilitated by their soon-to-be-built campus, the Canyon Country Discovery Center.
