Sterling Scholar Runner-up - Rosalie Kartchner - San Juan - Social Science

The Runner-up of the Social Sciences category is supportive and observant. She has always enjoyed history, from reading historical-fiction books in elementary school to competing in National History Day last year. She is currently in her ‘involved era’ and has held seven leadership positions this past year. Throughout high school, she has enjoyed participating in Cross Country, FBLA, Student Council, Golf, Youth City Council, and other clubs. Sterling Scholar has taught her the importance of getting civically involved and serving her community as a high school student. Because she loves learning about other people’s stories and cultures, she plans on becoming an archivist. The runner-up of the Social Sciences category is the daughter of Dave and Hayley Kartchner, from San Juan High School: Rosalie Kartchner
