More than 200 set to be high school graduates

The San Juan School District will award diplomas to more than 200 high school graduates from May 22 through 25 at services across the sprawling district.
Monticello High School graduation will take place Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. The Class of 2024 Valedictorian is Nial Reay with Shayla Pehrson as Salutatorian.
Coach Reed Anderson will be the keynote speaker and there are 44 graduates. Virtual attendance is available at streamutah.live
The San Juan High School graduation ceremonies will be Thursday, May 23 at 5 p.m. on the football field in Blanding.
The guest speaker will be Tracy Johnson, an educator who is retiring this year after teaching for 31 years.
The 88 graduates include Summa Cum Laude honorees Synessa Atcitty, Tatum Begay, Anthony Done, Rylan Grover, Anna Lyman, Shaylin Nez, Brigham Nielson, Taeg Palmer, Ally Shumway, Parker Snyder, Toby Ward and Cooper Yoakam.
Navajo Mountain High School will celebrate graduation on Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. The 2024 class Valedictorian is Kaylup Tsosie.
As of press time, the guest speaker is unknown and number of graduating students will be 4 or 5.
Principal Donald Gandy informs us that Monument Valley High School commencement exercises are Friday, May 24 at 2 pm.
There are 25 graduates in the class of 2024. Valedictorian is Lyneah Israel and Salutatorian is Chanlynn Martin.
Keynote Speaker is Christine Rock, School District Teacher of the Year for 2023.
Whitehorse High School commencement will be held Saturday, May 25 at 9 a.m. There should be 42 graduates. The guest speaker is Kolby Tsosie, Teacher of the Year, and social studies instructor.
WHS does not name a Valedictorian or Salutatorian but rather has students graduating with honors and highest honors that will be awarded after final grades post at the end of the school year.
Additional promotion services are being held at other schools in the district. 
On Monday, May 20, La Sal school promotion begins at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, May 21 Tse’Bii’Nidzisgai Elementary Kindergarten promotion is at 1 p.m. Whitehorse 8th grade promotion is at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, May 22, events include Bluff Elementary promotion at 1 p.m., promotion for Montezuma Creek Elementary at 5:30 p.m. and Monument Valley 8th grade at 6 p.m.
Thursday, May 23 promotions are at Monticello Elementary and at Tse’Bii’Nidzisgai Elementary at 1 p.m.
Friday, May 24 promotions include Blanding Elementary at 8:15 a.m., with Albert R. Lyman Middle School at 10 a.m.
