Graduates set to receive diplomas at area schools

Diplomas will be presented to graduates of the San Juan School District at graduation ceremonies throughout the county.
In addition to services at the five high schools, commencement services will also be held at elementary and middle schools.
Graduation at Monticello High School will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25 in the high school auditorium. Forty students will graduate, led by valedictorian Izabell Slade and salutatorian Allie Maughan.
Gordon Reeve, a math teacher at Monticello High, is the guest speaker. Reeve was the San Juan School District Teacher of the Year in 2016.

A total of 90 graduates will receive diplomas at the San Juan High School graduation, which begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 in the high school auditorium. Monty Lee is the featured guest speaker.
Twelve students are named summa cum laude graduates, including Trinity Hancock, Jared Ward, Carver Black, William Heck, Zach Brown, Tomey Fox, Thomas Hook, Noah Kemner, KrysTelle Noyes, London Imlay, and Shelby Kartchner.

Monument Valley High School will present diplomas to 24 graduates in ceremonies beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 25.
The valedictorian is Arianna Carlson and the salutatorian is Christeanna Tsosie. The guest speakers is Crystal Sekaquaptewa, a dentist for Utah Navajo Health Systems in Monument Valley.
The San Juan Record plans to publish photos of the graduates in the May 31 issue of the newspaper.
Whitehorse High School will present diplomas to 45 graduates at ceremonies beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27 in the school gymnasium.
Echo Lefthand will address the graduates.

The graduating class at Navajo Mountain High School includes six seniors. They will receive their diplomas at ceremonies beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 in the gymnasium.
The valedictorian is Fredale Burns and the salutatorian is Camian King. The featured speakers are Mrs. Singer and Mr. Morgan.
The San Juan School District operates 12 schools and serves nearly 3,000 students in locations spread across San Juan County.
