Record to fill hole in San Juan doughnut

DUST IN THE WIND
by Bill Boyle
With this issue of the San Juan Record, we are announcing expanded coverage in the county.
A free sample of the paper is provided to residents of the Blanding area.
As our flag indicates on the front page every week, the San Juan Record has served as the “Hometown Newspaper for San Juan County, Utah since 1915.”
For the past 18 years, two papers covered the area, the Record and the Blue Mountain Panorama. Since the Panorama focused its coverage on the Blanding area, we stepped back and watched them do a great job.
The Panorama stopped publishing in 2012, and we feel the need to fill the void.
We are expanding coverage of Blanding City, San Juan High School and more. We hope people turn to us for news from throughout the county.
In addition to our print edition, which reaches 6,000 readers a week, a beautiful online version is free to subscribers (send us your email address, and we will get it going). In addition, sjrnews.com offers several stories and averages 10,000 hits a week.
Our Facebook page is growing and has 2,000 friends. All these efforts are pieces of our attempt to keep you informed.
Our current subscription campaign is meant to support local Boy Scouts getting ready to attend the National Jamboree. We will donate $5 for every new subscription through March 10.
