Kudos to the sponsors of local school scholarships

A brief shout-out to the local organizations that provide scholarships to local students.
Each year, a number of groups and families reach deep into their wallets to help graduating students as they start their post high school education.
In probably the most poignant presentation during the final week of school, Koy Nielson received the Gena Shumway Nielson Scholarship at San Juan High School.
At Monticello High School, Aapree Sheeran received a $1000 scholarship from the Brandon Larceval Foundation.
Arianna Reay received $800 as the winner of the Doyle Rowley math scholarship.
The Monticello Lions Club presented $500 checks to graduating seniors Matthew Benson and Aapree Sheeran.
The Muhlestein family award, to the student with the top ACT test score.
Arianna Reay received $1,000 after she scored 34 on the ACT test.
In addition, Southeast Utah Title Company presented a scholarship to Aapree Sheeran, while Empire Electric presented scholarships to Eric Anderson and Austin Wilcox.
In total, Monticello High School graduates received more than $300,000 in scholarship offers.
