Thank you to all who participated in our recent subscription campaign. With every new subscription or noted renewal, we agreed to donate $5 to the local Boy Scouts preparing to attend the National Scout Jamboree this summer in West Virginia.
Nearly 100 payments arrived. After combining a few additional donations, we presented a check for $580 to the scouts.

Apologies to our subscribers in southwest Colorado and northeast New Mexico, who are suddenly receiving their newspaper almost a week late.
The direct delivery of mail has been eliminated between San Juan County and our friends and neighbors in the area.
As a result, instead of going directly to the local sorting stations, newspapers and other mail from San Juan County is sent to Salt Lake City, then Denver, then Grand Junction.
The changes are due to the budget cuts being implemented by the US Postal Service.
