Common plant classified as toxic weed

A common plant in many area yards and gardens is causing problems for some who come in contact with its sap. Creeping spurge, myrtle spurge, and donkey tail are common names for Euphorbia myrsinites, which has been used as a ground cover.  Euphorbia is now classified as a toxic weed and is prohibited in some areas of Colorado.  The milky sap in the plant can causes rashes and blisters. A family in Monticello started an evening by playing with the sap and ended up with a visit to the hospital emergency room. Courtesy photo
