We tried to designate wilderness in Grand County in 1995/96 under Gov Mike Leavitt... BLM proposal for the whole state was only 1.7 million acres... When the County officials offered their proposal, it was 1.9 million acres...
...even at that, the feds didn't pass it... That was when Congressman Jim Hansen was over national lands...
