Catch them if you can during the Monticello Gingerbread House Tour

Artisan Jewelers is once again organizing the annual Monticello Gingerbread Tour, which they have done for several years. It’s something they believe brings the community together and has proven effective in years past to bring customers into local businesses.
This is in addition to the great Christmas spirit the tour nurtures as it encourages businesses to create a gingerbread house for display during the Christmas season.
Here’s how it works: Each business that participates will create and display a gingerbread house that will be included on map cards that have all participating businesses on them.
The map cards will be provided for each participating business and will also be handed out to customers. Participants in the tour are encouraged to bring their kids or grandkids with them in order to vote for their favorite houses.
Each gingerbread house will be silently auctioned during the tour. The proceeds will be given to either the local Food Drive, Toy Drive, or another worthy cause. Last year, the tour generated $450 for these great causes.
The tour begins Dec. 1 and concludes on Saturday, Dec. 15. The winners of the people’s choice award, the silent charity auction, and gift cards will be announced live at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m.
The announcement of the winners will be done live in correlation with the City of Monticello Tree Festival.
Hot chocolate is free, and there will be performances by Monticello Elementary students and young women.
