Canyon Country Music Experience hits Blanding
A new concert comes to San Juan County this weekend.
The Canyon Country Music Experience (CCMExperience) features four different country artists and brags “the largest county music event in Southeast Utah.”
It begins at 5 p.m. Saturday night in Blanding.
“A concert featuring these four artists has never before happened anywhere,” said a CCMExperience representative. “This is huge!”
The concert, which will take place at Centennial Park, features legendary country band BlackHawk.
Formed in the 90s, BlackHawk has been a huge name in the country music industry for 20 years.
With over seven million albums sold, 48 original songs, nearly 20 Billboard hits, and seven top ten hits, all country music fans will recognize their music.
Blackhawk’s notable songs include “Sure Can Smell the Rain,” “There You Have It,” “Every Once and a While,” “That’s Just About Right,” and “Not Strong Enough to Say No.”
In addition to this great band, James Otto and Ty Herndon will also take the stage!
Otto is often best know for his single, “Just Got Started Lovin’ You,” which was the most played country song of 2008!
Otto also wrote the award winning song “In Color” and brags ten Billboard hits and two Song of the Year awards.
James Otto will not only take the stage on Saturday, he will also visit Blanding a few days early and has scheduled a brief “meet-and-greet” Friday afternoon from 2-3:30 p.m. at Redd’s Ace Hardware. He has invited everyone to join him for photos, autographs, and some fun.
Joining his industry peers, Ty Herndon will also take the stage on Saturday. Herndon, who has 20 Billboard hits, is also a name that most every country music fan knows.
He boasts three music awards, six top ten singles, and over five million albums sold!
Some of Herndon’s notable songs include “Living in a Moment,” “What Mattered Most,” “Steam,” and “Right About Now.”
With three great artists in the line-up, this concert has promised to be “absolutely amazing”. However, Canyon Country Music Experience did not stop there. Joining these three artists will be newcomer Pat Swenson!
“We are crazy excited about this incredible event,” a CCMExperience representative said.
“This is a incredible thing we have coming to Blanding. We hope it will be a huge success, so we can bring it back year after year.”
You can get tickets to the concert online at canyoncountrymusicexeperience.com or at San Juan High School, Redd’s Ace Hardware, or Cedar Mesa Pottery.

Tickets are general admission and start at $32.95.
