Bluff sky covered in colorful bubbles

This weekend, visitors to Bluff will be awed, amazed, and amused as once again the Annual Bluff International Balloon Festival takes off for a weekend of fun.
Be at the Bluff Community Center at 7 a.m. to watch each morning as the beautiful, colorful, huge, fascinating, hot air balloons inflate and ascend into the crisp winter sunshine.
Then join friends, neighbors and visitors from around the country for days of entertaining events and fund-raising festivities.
Friday evening at 5 p.m., Bluff Elementary School presents the Navajo Taco Supper featuring fabulous fry bread tacos and Native Dance performances by the students. This is a delicious, inexpensive way to support the kids of Bluff.
After the balloon lift-off on Saturday morning, spend the day at the Community Center (on 3rd East Street) shopping the Balloon Festival Art Show.
Featuring artists from around the Four Corners area and around the town, visitors will find jewelry, photographs, paintings, books and more to tempt you.
Next, be tempted by the tastes of southwest treats at the Southwest Cook-off at the Community Center from 3 to 5 p.m. Sample a bite of every chef’s creation (or bring one of your own) and then vote with your cash for your favorites. The winners get a prize and the money goes to the Bluff Community Fund to support activities and projects in Bluff.
Saturday evening is capped off with one of the festival’s most anticipated moments. The sunset sky is brightened by the firelight of tethered balloons at the Glow-in at 5:30 p.m. Get up close with the balloons and their crews and enjoy the warmth and beauty of the glow.
The festival closes with the magnificence of the balloons soaring across Valley of the Gods on Sunday morning. Meet at the Community Center at 6:30 a.m. and caravan down to watch the splendor of the balloons sailing above the red rock beauty of the valley.
The Business Owners of Bluff are pleased to bring this event each year and grateful to their sponsors, San Juan Economic Development, Rocky Mountain Power and all of the friends and businesses that contribute to their success every year. Please join them.
