Stop at the library in Blanding

If you ever find yourself cruising down Main Street in Blanding, and think, “Wow, I sure could use some books right now” , then we most certainly have the place for you.
The San Juan County library is a red rock building situated just off of Main Street. If you locate using landmarks rather than directions, it is next to the south chapel and the elementary school. 
Upon entering its gleaming glass doors, one will find a veritable oasis of knowledge. Books line every wall and shelf, meaning that whatever genre you prefer you are certain to find something that interests you. If you need to perform online research, the row of public computers has got you covered. Before you check anything out, be sure to get your own library card from the front desk.
Books and computers are not the only thing the library has to offer. During the summer they often have activities for the local youth.
These can range from family friendly movie nights, to storytimes, to a top notch rendition of “Rumplestiltskin” performed with puppets.
There is also a weekly story for children and their parents. Ask the librarians for more details.
All together, the library is a welcoming place for readers of all ages. The shelves are easy to navigate, the librarians are helpful, and the activities are interesting, and capable of broadening youths’ perspectives.
