Handel’s Messiah to be performed on Sunday

A large group of musicians from across the area will present the 43rd performance of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, December 18 in Blanding.
A 26-member orchestra will accompany a 58-member choir to present the holiday classic, first performed in 1742 by composer George Frideric Handel.
The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Blanding Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 West 900 North in Blanding.
The performance is under the direction of conductor Jake Palmer, with organist Jacque Moses. Olivia Moses is assistant to the organist.
Soloists include Trevor Shepherd, Denver Smith, Brett Peterson, Lynda Boyle, Zoie Chamberlain, Emily Boyle, Jill Pearson, Beverly Felstead, Annette Adams, Trent Duke, and Todd Hall.
The Orchestra is led by Concert Mistress Kristan Smith and includes violinists Jessie Black, Lydia Nielson, Toni Glossenger, Katherine Hiatt, Savannah Richmond, Mallory Lyman, and Hayley Kartchner.
Cellists are Patricia Kudzia, Jacob Mika, and Denver Smith, with JakiLyn King on contra basso, and Victoria Mika, Austin Pincock, and Brittany Jensen on viola.
Flautists are Emma Brown and Sue Anderson, while Brianna Palmer, Emma Peterson, and Cambree Chamberlain are on clarinet.
Trumpists are James Muhlestein and Millie Morrison, trombonists are Mark Bake, Tim Harrison, and Wyatt Jones. Lacie McCullough plays the French horn.
Sopranos are led by Lorelei Andrews and include Annette Adams, Alexis Bailey, Zoie Chamberlain, Laili Dilts, Joni L. Kane, Alyn Mitchell, Kamora Mitchell, Ellen Nerdin, Jill Pearson, Peaches Ramsay, Anthea Ward, and Ilsa Ward.
Altos are led by Beverly Feldstead and include Kyleigh Adair, Bekah Anderson, Kenlee Atwood, Shauna Black, Emily Boyle, Lynda Boyle, Alyson Christensen, Maxine Deeter, Coral Delorenzis, Cindra Eardley, Jesse Gomez, Andrea Jeppesen, Kelleen Palma, Shayla Pehrson, Kari Pugh, Manette Shumway, and Lynette Stevens.
Tenors are led by Richard Ward and include Donovan Atwood, Mike Carter, Denise Frost, Carl Hunt, Kelly Jeppesen, Duane Lyman, Mason Lyman, Russell Pincock, Trevor Shepherd, Levi Ward, and Toby Ward
