Asst City Manager resigns

Just three weeks after a new City Manager began his work in Monticello, the City of Monticello has another leadership position to fill.
Oliver Crane, who served for the past 18 months as city recreation manager and assistant city manager, announced that he has accepted the position as manager of the San Juan Clinic for the San Juan Health Service District.
Crane will begin his new responsibilities in two weeks. This comes on the heels of the appointment of Ty Bailey as the new Monticello city manager. Bailey replaces Greg Westfall, who resigned in October, 2014.
Crane served as the interim city manager until Bailey started work on January 5, 2015. Crane said he is excited to begin his new position at the clinic, which is adjacent to San Juan Hospital.
Crane is not the only new face in health care. In December, 2014 Clayton Holt was hired as the new Executive Director of the San Juan Health Service District, which operates two clinics and the San Juan Hospital.
Holt is completing his work as business manager of the San Juan School District and starts his new position in coming weeks.
Crane has faced a demanding workload while carrying the titles of recreation director, assistant city manager, and interim city manager.
The Monticello City Council is expected to address the issue at its January 27 Council meeting.
