10K race is October 13

Racers will hit the road on Saturday at 10 a.m. for the sixth annual Newspapers Rock! 10K race in Indian Creek Canyon. Up to 100 runners are expected to test the spectacular course, which winds through the canyon from Newspaper Rock to the Dugout Ranch.
The race is a great test for experienced runners and first time racers alike. The gently sloping course drops more than 800 feet over the 6.2 mile course.
Registration is still open. Racers can pick up their packets, including a high quality long-sleeve shirt, at the San Juan Record office on Friday. The office is at 49 South Main Street in Monticello.
While registration is available before the race on race day, racers should plan to pick up packets and register, at the finish line, by 9 a.m.
