Wrestlers prep for divisionals

The Monticello High School wrestlers put on an exciting show on January 30 in a 58-15 win over the Grand County Red Devils. The Buckaroos started strong with Ben Barton putting up a win by fall early in the first period.
Hunter Bowring worked hard for three periods in an 8-0 victory. Brian Robinson earned an exciting first period win by fall.
Brandon Musselman built a 5-0 first period lead, but his opponent came back to win by two at the final bell.  Dustin Christensen worked hard but was defeated by fall.
Nephi Barlow earned 10 unanswered points and put his opponent on his back twice before earning a win by fall.
In exhibition matches, Chandler Draper scored hard and fast in a 12-5 win. Isaiah Sheeran and Lejon Gines worked hard but came up short.
Over the weekend, the Bucks travelled to North Sanpete for the final tournament of the regular season. The Bucks as a team finished very well in fourth place, behind only Millard, Payson and Spanish Fork. 
Four Bucks made it to the championship match.  Hunter Bowring, Brandon Musselman, Cole Eldredge and Nephi Barlow wrestled hard and finished with second place medals.
Not far behind is P.J. Leiataua, who brought home a third place medal and earned three wins by fall.  Rounding out the medal winners is Eric Anderson with a fifth place finish and three wins by fall.
Also earning wins for the Bucks are Robert Musselman, Austin Wilcox, and Justin Redd all with two wins. Drew Baird also picked up a win by fall.
Also wrestling for the Bucks are Isaiah Sheeran, Dustin Christensen, Alma Beh, Brandin Clark, Ben Barton, and Tyrel Lee.
This week the Bucks travel to the South Division wrestling tourney on Saturday, February 9 at Bryce Valley High School.
