Former Monticello resident Cass Williams has played for the Utah Wild, a professional women’s Ultimate Frisbee team, since it was founded in 2019. The Wild finished second in the Western Ultimate League on June 2 in Denver, CO. The first-ever disc golf course in Monticello is set to open on July 19 during the annual Pioneer Day Celebration hosted by the city. The newly-completed course features nine holes and is located at the Monticello Mill Site just south of town. It’s free to play and is great for beginners and skilled disc golfers alike. The grand opening will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday. You can come play a round or participate in the closest-to-the-basket competition.  Staff photo
