Lady Broncos continue to roll as Khatira Keith earns first no-hitter of season over Parowan

The San Juan High School softball team ran their record to 9-0 on the season this past Saturday, March 21 with a 15-0 drubbing of Parowan on the SJHS softball diamond.
The game was ultimately never in question though it was tight early on. The Lady Broncos opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, and it remained 2-0 until the bottom of the third.
The San Juan bats came alive in the third, resulting in six runs for the home squad. They scored seven more in the bottom of the fourth to close out the mercy-rule win over the Lady Rams.
Keegan Palmer, Averie Gilson, and Khatira Keith were all 2-for-3 in the game. Palmer drove in two Lady Bronco runs and Gilson hit a triple.
But it was Kheirra Keith who had the standout day. She was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with two doubles and four RBIs.
Madden Perkins, Morgann McPherson, Lizzie Palmer, and Ella Stearns all got hits in the win. Palmer and Stearns drove in one run apiece.
San Juan stole nine bases on the Parowan defense. Madden Perkins swiped a very impressive four bases, McPherson and Gilson got two, and Lizzie Palmer one.
Khatira Keith pitched her first no-hitter of the season in the four-inning gem, striking out five of the 13 Parowan batters she faced.
The Lady Broncos sport the best record among Utah 2A softball teams and they’re looking to make it ten in a row when they close out their season series with Parowan on Friday, March 27.
This time they’ll travel to face the Lady Rams and on their way home they’ll stop in Richfield for a matchup with the Lady Wildcats on Saturday, March 28.
San Juan begins the following week with a local rivalry showdown with the Grand County Lady Red Devils in Moab on Tuesday, March 31.
