Head Coach Sidiah Parker: “Priseis Parker is a freshman at Monument Valley High School who competed in the 155-pound weight class. She started out independently wrestling due to no middle school program or club wrestling program in the area. She came into high school with a basic knowledge of wrestling.
“Her only training partner was her older sister, Aiyana Parker, for the longest time, and both learned from one another. Each week she showed significant improvements after she quickly learned the ropes of high school wrestling expectations and demands, including competing in tournaments every week, attending duals during the week, fundraising, and wrestling up to five matches in a day.
“As the season rolled along, she began placing very well at tournaments to include taking first place at Parowan, first place at Tintic, and first place at Divisionals. At State, Priseis pinned both of her opponents and made it to the Championship match where she lost by decision and placed sedond.
“Although she is a beast on the mat, she is a smart, funny, blunt, and charming young lady who makes everyone laugh. She participates in volleyball, FFA, and works part time. I am excited to see what the future holds for this young lady.”
