San Juan football gets road win over Bayfield
The San Juan Broncos raced to a 35-0 halftime lead and never looked back on the way to a 42-13 win over the Bayfield Wolverines on August 30 in Bayfield, CO.
Running back Kian Conway carried the burden for the Broncos, carrying the ball 16 times for 144 yards and four rushing touchdowns.
Quarterback Shaw Nielson completed an efficient 12 of 15 passes for 168 yards and a 39-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Imlay. Porter Ivins led the receivers with seven catches.
Defensively, a host of Broncos saw action. They were led by Ivins, Randall Flavel, Jensen Grover, Landon Black, and Josh Whitehorse.
Imlay, Flavel, and Issac Jacobs had sacks, while Imlay, Easton Bethea, and Grover had interceptions.
The Broncos improve to 2-1 on the young season, with two impressive wins in a row after a heartbreaking triple overtime loss to Delta to open the year.
The Broncos host American Leadership Academy in Blanding on Friday, September 6. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
