Sarah English

Monticello City Council
My name is Sarah English. I have five amazing children, one fabulous husband, 2 silly cats and five awesome chickens! I have a degree in Elementary education with minors in PE and child development from Southern Utah University. I have been a teacher, a coach, a referee, a waitress, a maid, a tutor, a missionary, homeowners’ association vice president, a DJ, a ski instructor, a mom, and now, I would like to be your city councilwoman.
As an adult, I have lived in three different states and another country before coming to Monticello. Wherever I have lived, I have been involved in the community and worked to make it a better place for our children. Since moving here I started the after school “Scholars’ Club” at the elementary school, organized the Monticello Piranhas swim team, and brought ATC gymnastics in from Cortez to keep our tumbling program going.
As a woman and a mother, I will bring an important perspective to Monticello’s council table. I want to ask: what are the pros and cons? Who will benefit from and who must sacrifice for our decisions? What is our plan? And, is there a better way? I want to meet up with people in the store, at the park, in the halls of our schools, at ball games, community events, and online. I want to hear what everyone thinks, what they feel, what their insights are. And then I want to bring that back to the council table to make our little town an even better place to live.
Monticello is an amazing place to call home. And we all know that a home runs better when MOM is involved in the decision making! Learn more at www.facebook.com/groups/SarahForCityCouncil/
