Bears Ears Advisory Committee set to meet

The Bears Ears National Monument Advisory Committee will meet for the first time this week in public meetings in Monticello on June 5 and 6.
The 15 members of the advisory committee will meet Wednesday, June 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thursday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Hideout Community Center. Both meetings are open to the public.
The committee was appointed by the U.S. Department of the Interior to help in the development of the Monument Management Plan. 
Tentative meeting agendas include reviewing the charter, addressing the development of the Draft Monument Management Plans and Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Shash Jáa and Indian Creek Units of the Bears Ears National Monument, and selection of a chairperson.
Members of the committee include Bruce Adams, Lee Bennett, Gail Johnson, Alfred Ben, Ryan Benally, Jared Berrett, Dustin Randall, Danny Flannery, Zeb Dalton, Adam Redd, Jami Bayles, Kelly Pehrson, Gordon Larsen, Brooks Britt, and Miles Moretti.
