William Paul Curtis February 5, 1952 ~ October 18, 2022

William Paul Curtis returned to his heavenly home on October 18, 2022, in Provo Utah. He passed away from complications of pneumonia and kidney failure.
He was born February 5, 1952 in Salina, Utah to William Garth Curtis and Renee Newman. He is the second of four children, David, Cassandra, and Scott. He grew up in the Salt Lake Valley. He graduated from Murray High school in May of 1970 and attended Utah State University for a year before serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Germany West Mission. After his mission he returned to Utah State University and received his bachelor’s degree in general range management.
He married Carolee Redd on September 22, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked for the Bureau of Land Management as a range conservationist for 32 years, 30 of which were out of the Monticello office. He loved seeing the country and working with the ranchers.
Throughout his life he enjoyed many hobbies including ranching, fishing, hunting, leatherwork, woodworking, trapping and shooting prairie dogs, growing and selling pumpkins, supporting and watching his children play school sports, being involved in the scouting program and being in the outdoors.
He loved retirement and filled it with the things he loved. He sprayed weeds, did some consulting for some ranchers, worked in his yard, shoveled snow, served as an ordinance worker in the Monticello temple, helped his good friend Casey Veach, enjoyed his grandchildren and had his own cows to watch over.
He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a strong testimony of its importance in his life. He was a great example of dedication and commitment to righteous living. He enjoyed serving those around him. He served in whatever calling he was asked to do.
Paul and Carolee raised six children, Clinton Paul, Cody Jay, Kyle Taylor, Kristalee, Kedric Wayne, and Kelvin Redd.
He is survived by his spouse Carolee; children, Clint Curtis (Tonya) of Nephi, Utah, Cody Curtis (Rashelle) of Centerville, Utah, Kyle Curtis (Anna) of St. George, Utah, Kristalee Shumway (Adam) of Blanding, Utah, and Kedric Curtis (Kristine) of Monticello, Utah, and 16 grandchildren.
