Veronica Ostrovka Hutnik
June 18, 1928 ~ August 28, 2012
Veronica was born to John and Anna Ostrovka Hutnik in Johnstown, PA.
Veronica attended the American University in Washington, DC and later she served as a secretary for the Naval Department and the Persian Embassy in DC.
She enjoyed beauty pageants and ballroom dancing, but most of all she loved her Lord and the Russian Orthodox Church.
Veronica traveled the world with her only child, daughter Maryanna, while Maryanna served in the United States Air Force.
Veronica is survived by daughter, Maryanna Hutnik; son-in-law, Charles R. Zimmerman; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings John A. Hutnik, Anna (Hutnik) Pollock, Helen and Pauline, who died in infancy, and other family members in Czechoslovakia.
A vigil service was held Friday August 31, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab, UT. A Holy Mass will be held at Christ The Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown, PA and Interment following at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral Cemetery in Johnstown.
