Thelma Kay (Katie) Musselman Collard
June 28, 1941 ~ June 16, 2021
On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, Thelma Kay (Katie) Musselman Collard, a loving wife, mother, and granny, passed away at age 79.
Katie was born on June 28, 1941 in Sentinel, OK to Floyd and Jewel Truman. Katie’s family moved from Oklahoma to Eunice, NM in 1951 and finally to Bluff, UT in 1957.
She met Andrew Robert Musselman in Bluff and was married to him there on September 9, 1960. They raised four children Daniel, Diana, Robert, and Calvin. Katie was widowed in 1991.
She married Dean Collard on March 9, 1993 and gained three more children, Rick Collard, Tonya Goddard, and Jaime Pipkin. Together they have 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Katie was an artist and loved to create with her hands. She made, from scratch, an amazing blend of southwest and southern comfort foods that will be missed by many.
She also enjoyed wood carving with many hand carved folk art walking canes being the result. Some of us were lucky to have received one of those canes as a gift.
Photos were also Katie’s passion. She always had a camera in her hands to capture the memories she wanted to hold on to forever. She loved to create photo albums to make sure her children knew their family and family history.
Katie is preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Robert Musselman; brother Donald Ray Truman; sister Betty Lou Roper; as well as three grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Collard; her four children Daniel (Jessica) Musselman, Diana Musselman, Robert (Jan) Musselman, and Calvin (Dawnell) Musselman; and her stepchildren Rick (Robin) Collard, Tonya (Jim) Goddard, and Jaime (Walter) Pipkin; and sister, Barbara Sue Stewart
