Rachel “Toots” Black

August 9, 1927 ~ January 28, 2015
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Rachel “Toots” Black.
Toots was born on August 9, 1927 in Blanding, UT to Morley and Rachel Black. She was the youngest of 13 children, who all precede her in death.
She went home to her father and heavenly family on January 28, 2015.
Toots resided in Blanding for most of her life. She was known for her kind heart, love of horses, home, gardening and the Temple.
She worked hard at the Four Corners Regional Care Center for several years and later resided there. She loved to play the drums to entertain the residents and staff.
Toots is survived by her sons Morley (Martha) Hense, Donald Hense, Rex Hense, and William (Lydia) Hense, and her grandchildren Morley, Michelle, Monica, Ben, Jose, Cora, Jordan, Tanya, Mike, Jennifer, Ryan, Corey, Kim, Shawn, Tony, Clark, Katie, Seth, Dirk, Meghan Cody, and 10 great-grandchildren.
We would like to especially mention her niece Patsy Shumway, who was always there for her and we really appreciated her love and support.
We also thank the Four Corners Regional Care Center for taking care of her for the last few months of her life and to her ward, family and friends of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Blanding.
The funeral is Friday, February 6 at 1 p.m. at Blanding LDS Stake Center. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the day of the funeral. Interment after the funeral.
