Mary Kathleen Mayne
November 17, 1988 ~ May 27, 2012
Mary Kathleen Mayne of Monticello, UT passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the San Juan Hospital. Services were held June 2 at the American Fork Utah LDS 6th Ward Chapel. She was laid to rest in the American Fork Cemetery next to her Grandfather Carl Jay Mayne (November 12, 1926 – September 4, 2004).
Mary was born November 17, 1988 in Ogden, UT to George and Kim Mayne.
She was called home at an early age, but she has left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Those of us that knew her understand that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Mary was a kind spirit who loved children and although she didn’t have that opportunity here on earth, she was able to care for and be loved by those she had the privilege of tending.
She was a wonderful baby sister, caring big sister, beloved daughter, special granddaughter, and an understanding friend. She made children laugh, and brought out the inner child of the adults she associated with. She was strong, courageous, compassionate, nurturing, and gentle.
Her determination not only upheld her through her illness but held her family and loved ones together as well.
She spent the last couple of years in American Fork and Salt Lake, UT working as an optician and getting herself certified. She loved her job, and all of the many people she worked with.
Her last birthday, November 17, 2011, she was proposed to by Lance Bailey from Salt Lake City, and they were waiting on her recovery from the recent brain tumor to officially tie the knot.
Through thick and thin, Lance has been there by her side, supporting and loving her, valiantly standing by, a brilliant example of what any fiancé should be. Mary was the kind of daughter every parent prays to be blessed with, and we will all wait anxiously for the day we will be with her again.
She is survived by her fiancé, Lance Bailey, and his brother, Bryce Smith, of SLC, UT; parents George and Kim Mayne; Hank Hannah; grandparents George and Mary Knoll; Joyce Mayne; siblings Michelle (Darren) Jensen, Jason (RuthAnn) Mayne, Carla Mayne, Becky Mayne, Melissa and Joshua ‘Bucko’ Tuttle, Ted Mayne, Jared (Tammy) Mayne, Jacob (Chelsea) Mayne, CJ Mayne, John (Kelsey) Mayne, Rachel Mayne; nieces and nephews Nicole Jensen, Aubrey Jensen, Kaylee Mayne, Austin Mayne, Nathan Mayne, Tristan Tuttle, and Brayden Mayne.
Mary also had many other loved ones she counted as siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins who are not named above, but will forever remain in her heart, as she is in theirs.
