Linda Weber Bayles

August 23, 1941 ~ May 11, 2009

Linda was born to Esther and Grant Walter Weber in Ontario, OR on August 23, 1944. She had an older brother Ronald Eugene, younger sister Alice Lusann and two younger brothers, Guy Robert and Grant Lloyd Weber.

She grew up on a little farm 13 miles north of Ontario. She always said she lived in the best of times in the best of circumstances.

They were poor as church mice but didn’t know it. Her parents were hard working people with high standards and a strong set of values. They taught her to work hard, always do her best, say “please” and “thank you” and to treat everyone as she would want them to treat her. Her philosophy was that anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Linda was born with a happy spirit, and loving nature and had an avid curiosity for life.

Linda loved people, babies, and little children in particular. She loved God, Jesus Christ and their Gospel. She loved and appreciated her good husband more than words could adequately express.

She looked forward to, and enjoyed the rides they took every evening to talk over the day’s events and enjoy the sunsets.

She loved precious moments (both the kind that happen while you are living and the figurines that celebrate that life.) She loved all things in nature: sunsets, flowers, trees, grass, mountains, rainbows, clouds, rain, snow, a cooling breeze, butterflies and fireflies, and the seasons in all their splendor, just to name a few.

She loved the holidays and loved to decorate for each one. She loved good food and loved to cook and bake for her family. She was an avid reader, seamstress, and loved to cross stitch, tole paint, and play with their little ones.

Linda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life.

She served as Relief Society, and Young Women’s President, counselor in the Primary, teacher, chorister, pianist, Cub Scout den mother and leader, nursery leader and teacher in many age groups of Primary and Relief Society, as well as activity day leader for over 20 years and visiting teacher for over 40 years. She spent her life in service to her family friends and church.

Linda graduated from High School in Cambridge, Idaho and went on to Brigham Young University, where she met her sweetheart and the love of her life. They were married on May 27 1966 in the Manti Temple. Their home was blessed with four beautiful children, Shelly, Tyler Grant, Kedric Lloyd, and Brian Guy Bayles. They have eight grandchildren, all of whom are precious to them.

Linda was a teacher. She always said her one true gift in life was that she knew how to teach. She taught 11 years for the state in the Youth in Custody Program and eight years at Blanding Elementary School. She loved her students and loved to teach.

Linda passed away on May 11, 2009 at her home in Blanding.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd, daughter Shelly, sons Tyler and Kedric, and daughters-in-law Susie and Ann. She left behind eight grandchildren: Darci, Dianna Dezarae, Abrienne, Devon, Brock, Ellianna, and Gracie; sister Lousaun, and brothers Ronald, Guy, and Grant.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Brian.

Funeral services were held on May 16 in Blanding in the North LDS Chapel. Interment followed in the Blanding City Cemetery.
