Hans Joseph Nielson

March 3, 1926 ~ August 28, 2010
Hans Joseph Nielson (Joe), our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather returned home to his Heavenly Father on August 28, 2010.
Joe was born on March 3, 1926 in Blanding, UT to Francis Shirley and Marian Elizabeth Nielson.
Joe was raised in Blanding, except for a brief period of time when he lived in Salt Lake City while his mom, Marian, battled cancer.
Joe graduated from San Juan High School in 1944 and was immediately inducted into the Navy. He spent the next two and one half years serving his country in the Pacific during World War II.
Joe married the love of his life, Belva Walker, on July 23, 1948. They were blessed with five children, Patti Jo, Vicki Lee, Vance Joseph, Lisa Kay and Jeffery Park.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Belva; four children; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His presence in our lives is irreplaceable, but we celebrate his life and know that he is at peace.
Services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Blanding LDS Stake Center. Interment at the Blanding Cemetery.
