Erma Eliza Leavitt

Erma Eliza Woodburn Leavitt was born on July 16, 1927 in Ogden, UT to Paul and Maggie Woodburn. She passed away January 22, 2015 in Monticello, UT at the age of 87. She is the youngest of six children: Ivan, Lynn, twins Ada and Amy, and Myrtle and Erma.
Erma graduated from Ogden High School in 1945 and worked until her marriage to Grant Harder Leavitt on September 4, 1947. They eloped to Ely, NV where they were married in the registry office.
They built their first home in Ogden, UT in 1947. Sons Chriss Grant, Craig Robert and Mark Thomas were born in Ogden.
In 1955 the family moved to Vernal, UT, and daughter Carrie Ann was born in 1956. In 1958, the family moved to Price, UT, and by March 1962 had moved to Monticello, UT. Erma started working as a nurses aid at San Juan Hospital in 1966 and retired in 1992 after 26 years.
Erma and Grant eventually retired to Moab, UT, where they enjoyed many years of retirement.
Erma is survived by her immediate family of four children, eight grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Grant and grandson Grant Paul Leavitt, son of Mark and Cindy Leavitt.
