Clyde Neldon Christensen

August 26, 1931 ~ October 14, 2009

Clyde Neldon Christensen our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend. passed away at the San Juan Hospital on October 14, 2009 at 9:15 a.m.

He was born January 9, 1935 in Monticello, UT to Robert and Myrtle Christensen. He married Patricia Richards on July 7, 1961 in Logan, UT. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Clyde and Pat resided in Salt Lake City, where son Scott Clyde and daughter Marci Lynn were born. They moved to Monticello in 1964, where a son, Robert Alma, was born in 1970.

Clyde attended Elementary and High School in Monticello, graduating in 1953. Clyde was active in student government and athletics, his favorite being basketball. Attended CEU in Price and worked at the uranium mill before being drafted in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958.

He loved his country and received an honorable discharge. He went to barber school in Salt Lake City and was a barber at the Union Building at the U of U campus, working part time to help pay for his education at the university.

Clyde loved the community and the people, which was portrayed by his involvement as a city councilman and city manager, retiring from the city after 27 years of service as utility supervisor.

He loved the annual deer hunt with family. He loved camping, Lake Powell, four-wheeling, historical events, and museums. He had a tremendous work ethic and put his best into everything he undertook.

He took great pride in landscaping of his home and continued to improve his yard and buildings with hard work and dedication. His greatest blessings were his 12 grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren whom he loved so much.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother and sister.

He is survived by his wife Pat, children Scott, Marci, and Robert, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Kenny, and sister Joann.
