Charlene Faye Schafer Rogers April 29, 1938 ~ March 10, 2022

Charlene Faye Schafer Rogers was born April 29, 1938 in Higgins, TX. She passed away peacefully at her home in Eastland surrounded by her family on March 10, 2022 at the age of 83.
Charlene was born to Charles Ray Schafer and Esther Koch Schafer. The Schafer family moved to Monticello in 1948, when Charlene was ten years old.
She had fond memories of her years in Texas. The Schafer family homesteaded a farm north of Monticello. They built a cabin on the farm where they spent their summers. It was a place she enjoyed her whole life.
Charlene met and married the love of her life, Darrel Lee Rogers, in Monticello. They were married June 24, 1955. They made their home in Eastland, where they raised their six children.
Charlene enjoyed staying at home raising her children. She also enjoyed life on the farm. She worked beside Darrel with the farming and they enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing together. Family and spending time together were important to Charlene.
Charlene enjoyed her school years in Utah and remained friends with many of her classmates. In later years, they would get together for luncheons. She really enjoyed these get-togethers.
Charlene is preceded in death by her father Charles Ray Schafer, mother Esther Koch Schafer, husband Darrel Lee Rogers, brother-in-law Chuck Humphreys, and son-in-law Curtis Renfro.
She is survived by her children Ronnie Lee (Kathy) Rogers, Kathryn Smith, Jeanie Kay Rogers, Debra Lynn Roberts, Sandra Elaine Vela and Loriann Renfro, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters Peggy Jean Humphreys and Linda Kay Weyand, plus many nieces and nephews.
Charlene was a good wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held on June 24, 2022 at the Eastland Cemetery.
